Abstract

This is an applied case study with a qualitative approach and a propositional objective. It presents analyses and proposals regarding the development and execution of projects within the Companhia de Desenvolvimento de Maricá (Codemar) based on the theory of organizational knowledge and the SECI model (Socialization, Externalization, Combination, and Internalization). The subjects of the study were executives involved in the projects analyzed. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews, and the analysis followed an inductive method. It was identified that the SECI spiral was not being completed adequately and that enabling conditions for promoting innovation were lacking. It is recommended that Codemar, in addition to internalizing innovations, develop specific solutions for the municipality of Maricá/RJ, systematically collecting regional needs and problems and improving knowledge management internally.
