Evaluación Neuropsicológica em Pacientes con Tumores Cerebrales: revisión sistemática de la literatura

Resumen


Los tumores cerebrales (TC) son causados por el crecimiento anormal de las células. Las consecuencias de los TC pueden implicar pérdidas físicas, cognoscitivas y emocionales. Se pretende identificar y describir los perjuicios cognitivos asociados a los TC, a través de una revisión sistemática de la literatura. Las búsquedas se realizaron en las bases de datos internacionales PubMed / MEDLINE, LILACS, y SCOPUS, incluyendo abstracts de artículos publicados de 2006 a 2016. Se encontraron 501 artículos de esos, 31 cumplieron los criterios de inclusión. Los TC, representan el 5% de las neoplasias, siendo algunos más agresivos que otros. Se presenta como síntomas severos: déficits cognoscitivos, motores. La evaluación neuropsicológica ayuda en la identificación de posibles alteraciones cognitivas y en el acompañamiento de los efectos del tratamiento, contribuyendo para una mejor calidad de vida de esos pacientes. Los resultados encontrados indicaron las Escalas Wechsler de Inteligencia; En el caso de las pruebas de Retención Visual de Benton, y Token Test como los más utilizados, y que evidenciaron como perjuicios los envolviendo la memoria, la atención y las funciones ejecutivas. La localización más frecuente de estos TC eran las regiones frontales y temporales y los gliomas el tipo de tumor más investigado.
