Municipal constructive parameters and their relationship with building shading in Curitiba - PR
Abstract
The transformations of the urban territory due the needs of its population are regulated by the public authorities from the approval of laws that must guarantee the harmony of space and ensuring an orderly urbanization. This work aimed to evaluate the shading of facades in a simulated urban scenario using the constructive parameters of Special Sector of the Linha Verde (SE-LV) proposed by Curitiba Municipal Law 15.511/2019. The method consisted in a simulating of two occupancy scenario, one considering the maximum occupation permitted by the urban legislation and the other considering the highest possible height permitted by legislation. The shadowed areas of the facades were identified in summer and winter at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. The results show a more significant shaded areas during the winter, which may impact the thermal, light and energy performance of the housing units. It is important to analyze the parameters of urban occupation, such as height of buildings, occupancy rates and setbacks between buildings, since the increase in shaded areas, especially in winter, can impact on the reduction in the thermal, lighting and energy performance of neighboring buildings. Furthermore, the results show that prior occupancy analysis can help determine which parameters to prioritize when thinking about lot occupancy and how to distribute housing units and common areas in buildings.
