Social impact of the regenaration of a Green Infrastructure model in Passo Fundo – RS

Abstract

On the current urban context, it is important to comprehend the benefits that integrative public spaces, like the Green Infrastructures can bring to the cities and its users. Passo Fundo city has different public spaces and three large parks in the city, cidade but they are located either in a noble area or in the city centre, however the Sétimo céu Linear Park is located in a regular neighbourhood of the city, sorrounded by other diverse neighbourhoods, and this is what makes it a subject of study in evidence for an analysis in this paper. The objective of this study is to verify the social impact of the construction of the Sétimo Céu Linear Park in Passo Fundo city in the period it was being constructed. For that to be achieved, an evaluation of a case study was made through opinion interviews of the residents of the city about the construction of the model of Green Infrastructure Linear Park of the region, located on Rui Barbosa Avenue, in Petrópolis neighborhood, in Passo Fundo. In this sense, it was made a mapping of the roundness of the neighborhood where the Sétimo Céu Linear Park was being constructed inside the urban context, also evaluating aspects such as monthly family income, gender and age group. Based on theory, it was made a relation with the acceptance of passo-fundenses citizens who lived in one of the three neighborhoods of the study with the Sétimo Céu Linear Park construction, the income, the gender and age group. The results demonstrate na important reflexion about how the urbanism model with Green Infrastructure can be positive for the citizens that make a city, so they are subjected to the constant interaction with other elements and infrastructures that also rule the urban space as a whole. The conclusion with this case study that the Green urbanization model that the Linear Park representes on the current urbanism models is that it contributes for the decrease of social segreation of the urban space in the city, assisting different sectors of passo-fundense Society and increasing the interaction and culture exchange and then contributing for the social integration.
