Abstract

This paper is about a Post Occupancy Evaluation (POE) os the laboratory building os the undergraduate courses in Engineering (Civil and Electrical) and Architecture and Urbanism, located at URI, Campus Santo Ângelo. The choose of focus on acoustical comfort of the building was because of the large amount of equipment with high noise generation and varied and uses incorporated into the same space. Mapping and surveying of the building was carried out, with an analysis of the layout of these spaces along with a checklist completed during the implemented walktrough as a methodological step. As a way of analyzing the acoustic comfort of the environments, was chosen in-situ measurements of noises with a decibelmeter. As parameter for the analysis and verification of acoustic comfort, were used NBR 10152 (ABNT, 1987) and NR 15 (1978). The measurement points were defined in places with different uses and functions as a way of ascertaining which places are mostly affected by noise. The values obtained as results of the measurements were compared with the values stipulated by the respective standards resulting in a diagnosis of the building. The most environments obtained negative results, in other words, the existing noise levels disagree with the comfort parameters. Therefore, some short, medium and long term recommendations have been listed as a way to improve the acoustic comfort of users.
