Alternative furniture office of wooden pallets as a practice of social inclusion

Abstract


Social inclusion in the broad dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge allows your applications to understand the opportunity to acquire knowledge of various fields that enables them to understand their surroundings and expand their opportunities. In this way, this extension work aimed at the interaction between disabled youth of the Basic Education institution, Associação Pestalozzi do Município de Guaíra - PR, with graduates of the Universidade Tecnológica Federal, campus Dois Vizinhos-PR. The objective of this project is the interdisciplinary and inclusive education, through the workshop of wooden pallets offered by students with disabilities, which enabled the academics the techniques of creating alternative furniture and reuse of wooden pallets. This project valued the work of the special education students, in defense of their normalization and spread knowledge, socialization, conviviality, and communication between the executors. The methodology employed was the realization of a workshop for handicraft production given to undergraduates, executing furniture planned according to architectural design. As a result, the manufactured furniture served to furnish and create the Centro de Convivência Social (CCS) space destined to the area of conviviality of university students, Academic Centers and interaction between different levels of school. This content aimed to develop a project based on social principle, which promoted the interaction between the different knowledge in the formulation of sustainable social designer approaches, providing knowledge in the solutions of local problems, reusing pallets or creating hypotheses that can be researched by studies later.
