Resumen

Aim: The objective of this clinical case was to report a unitary rehabilitation in the posterior region of the maxilla, and to describe the surgery for lifting the maxillary sinus through the lateral window technique, with immediate implant placement. Methods: The sinus lift surgery was performed using the lateral window technique, followed by the immediate installation of the implant and subsequent manufacture of a screw-retained single prosthesis. Results: It was observed the rehabilitation of the lost dental element through the reestablishment of the bone space through the sinus floor augmentation, thus allowing the installation of the immediate implant and the making of the final prosthesis. Conclusions: Following a solid and meticulous planning, even in crests with less than 5 mm thick, a transcrestal technique can be used predictably with an adequate clinical and radiological outcome, giving patients excellent stability of the grafted material and excellent clinical results.
