Influência de aspectos psicossociais na qualidade de vida de adolescentes

Resumo


A adolescência é caracterizada por intensas mudanças desenvolvimentais. Para gerenciar essas mudanças, os indivíduos devem adquirir um conjunto de estratégias de enfrentamento e habilidades sociais que apoiem sua qualidade de vida. O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar a influência de fatores psicossociais na qualidade de vida de adolescentes. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo transversal, observacional, realizado em escolas da rede privada da região metropolitana de Porto Alegre/RS. Participaram do estudo 99 adolescentes com média de idade de 14,4 (± 1,9) anos, em sua maioria meninos (53,5%) e de cor branca (77,8%). Para a coleta de dados, foi utilizado um questionário de dados sociodemográficos e o Youth Quality of Life – Research Version (YQOL-R). Ficou evidenciado que ter um familiar que possui doença física e/ou mental que necessite de acompanhamento terapêutico reduz os escores dos estudantes nos domínios Pessoal e Relacional, em média, 11,7 e 10,9 pontos. Estudantes que já realizaram tratamento em saúde mental tiveram seus escores nos domínios Relacional e Ambiental reduzidos, em média, 7,4 e 13,7 pontos (p<0,05). A qualidade de vida dos adolescentes esteve ligada ao bem-estar individual e social, e pesquisas nessa área revelam fatores que influenciam seu bem-estar, permitindo ações para promover seu desenvolvimento.
